On May 14, the Corcovado Train company made dreams come true for women taking part in the "Elas em movimento" program in Morro da Providência. The group received a donation of tickets to see Christ the Redeemer.
"It was quite an adventure, a lot of adrenaline. Looking at Christ from the front it looks like he's going to fall on us, but he's beautiful, huge. It's a dream come true!" said Ana Carla, one of the participants in the Program, an initiative of Chevron, the fifth largest energy company in the world, through the ELAS Social Investment Fund.
For those who only saw one of the country's most popular tourist attractions from their windows, this was a unique opportunity. "I was very curious because you can see it from the window of my house. It looks so close, but when we arrived it was nothing like what I see from my window. My eyes lit up with joy and tears just thinking about this achievement," said member Lidiane.
It was Project Manager Kaká Verdade who came up with the idea of taking them on a sightseeing tour that would show them the size of the city and the possibilities for serving tourists. "It's a way of motivating them to work harder on the enterprise that they will be implementing in Morro da Providencia, and which in the future will be a tourist attraction," says Kaká.
