Amalia Fischer, general coordinator of the ELAS Fund, is taking part in the Meeting of the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice, which will be held at the iCS - Instituto Clima e Sociedade, in Rio de Janeiro, on April 10 and 11.
The aim of the meeting is to take stock of the work of the organizations that make up the Network in recent years and to plan for the coming years, discussing challenges and opportunities for grantmaking and resource mobilization. The meeting will also discuss how the current political and economic context is affecting the work of the organizations.
In addition to presenting the programs, Dialogues and other initiatives carried out by the ELAS Fund in favor of women's rights, Amalia Fischer, one of the founders of the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice, will give a talk on "History and vision of the Network for the coming years", alongside our partner Ana Valeria Araújo, from the Brazil Human Rights Fund.
The evening of the first day of the event will also see the launch of the book "Philanthropy for social justice, civil society and social movements in Brazil", organized by Graciela Hopstein, coordinator of the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice. The book brings together articles by various representatives of social justice philanthropy funds in Brazil, such as Amalia Fischer, from the ELAS Fund, Ana Toni, from GIP, Ana Valéria Araújo and Maíra Junqueira from the Brazil Human Rights Fund, Maria Amalia Souza, from the CASA Socio-Environmental Fund, among others.
