A meeting held at the end of August at the Ford Foundation office in Rio de Janeiro discussed the actions and strategies of cooperation agencies on racial issues in Brazil. The event was organized by the Ford, Kellogg, Avina and Oxfam GB foundations, with the participation of 11 other organizations, including ELAS - Social Investment Fund.

The initiative was motivated by the recent growth and diversification of the agenda and public policies to combat racism and promote racial equality. The scenario pointed to the need for support to which cooperation bodies need to be attentive and attuned.
Throughout the presentations and discussions, several sensitive points were raised: the importance of focusing on the construction of public policies, the need to value and support Leadership black organizations and the need for agencies to incorporate racial issues into their lines of action and their internal relations, giving diversity to the composition of their teams.
