"It was wonderful for me to stay here for two days. This weekend has been one of the best I've ever had, it's given me more hope, security and willpower to keep going and not give up, to keep going. We're all going to work together and learn from each other. I'm very happy to be here and I thank you all very much".
This is how one of the participants in the "Dialogues for the improvement of living conditions", organized by Rebouças e Associados, defined the days in which they had the opportunity to talk about their dreams and the dreams for the community. The event, held on October 23 and 24, brought together residents of the Borel community and surrounding areas (RJ). On that occasion, the women created three possible businesses that will have their viability analyzed in the next stage of the "Elas em movimento" (They on the move) program, which is run by Chevron.
"There are a lot of projects in the community that make a lot of promises and end up to no avail. Here, it exceeded everyone's expectations. We saw that it was serious, it's been done and it's working in other communities. That's why everyone is believing more. And they're working hard to make it work, for our final victory," summed up another participant.
