On March 29th, at 10am, the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro will hold a formal session to award the Leolinda de Figueiredo Daltro Woman-Citizen Diploma in celebration of International Women's Day. Among the honorees are ELAS councillors and the general coordinator.
The following will be honored in 2011: Iraci do Carmo França (Rio de Janeiro), Madalena Guilhon (Rio de Janeiro ), Maria Aparecida Panisset (São Gonçalo), Norma Suely (Teresópolis), Rita Andrea (Rio de Janeiro), Rosana da Silva (Itaboraí), Schuma Shumaher (Rio de Janeiro), Sonia Maria Saturnino Braga (Niterói), Térphila Alves Castro (Rio de Janeiro) and Verena Bernini (Cabo Frio).
The formal session will also pay a posthumous tribute to Cássia Valéria Marques Furtado, a feminist from Mesquita who died in November 2010.
