Next Monday, August 30, at 7 p.m., artist Ellen Oléria will host a live chat to celebrate ELAS+'s 21st anniversary. It will be a conversation with artists, intellectuals and members of ELAS+. Present will be the singer Luedji Luna; the philosopher Sueli Carneiro, one of the main authors of black feminism in Brazil; the Executive Director of the Climate and Society Institute, Ana Toni; the Doctor of Economics, Beatriz Azeredo, who worked for 10 years as Director of Social Responsibility at Globo. Also taking part in the live are the philosopher, writer and president of the Deliberative Council of ELAS+, Helena Theodoro; the diversity consultant and member of the Deliberative Council of ELAS+, Lam Matos; K.K. Verdade, specialist in LGBT law, women's human rights and political participation and Executive Coordinator of ELAS+ and Amalia Fischer, feminist intellectual, women's rights activist, co-founder and General Coordinator of ELAS+.
ELAS+ is the first and only Brazilian social investment fund to promote the Leadership of women and LBT (lesbian, bisexual, transvestite and transgender) people. Since 2000, ELAS+ has supported the transformation of the world through actions that recognize how women move and sustain the economy wherever they are. They are indigenous women who fight for their rights and territories; they are women from different regions of Brazil who use the fashion production chain to guarantee a life without violence; they are young women who use sport as a tool to achieve equality; they are black women who march for the good life and for an anti-racist society.
To celebrate the anniversary, the former ELAS Fund has been given a new name, ELAS+. A significant change to highlight the multiplicity and diversity in singularity that have always been part of ELAS+'s DNA, such as gender and affective-sexual diversity. With a + sign, it celebrates another year of great challenges and already has many stories to tell. Stories led by people, full of colors and different places.
The live broadcast celebrating the 21st anniversary will take place simultaneously on ELAS+ 's official YouTube and Facebook channels. To find out more about ELAS+, visit the official website and channels or contact the communications department.
