Eliana Custódio, entrepreneurship manager at ELAS Fundo de Investimento Social, is taking part in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), a professional exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. The month-long exchange takes place in November.
Eliana is part of a group of visitors made up of leaders from different parts of Brazil - members of local governments, NGOs and the private sector. In addition to the ELAS Fund, the Afro-Brazilian Incubator and SEBRAE are some of the institutions represented.
The aim of the program is to cultivate relationships between current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields, promoting links and strengthening leadership.
Last Wednesday, November 4, the group went to the office of the Pan American Development Foundation in Washington to talk to Program Director Luisa Villegas.
The IVLP receives approximately 5,000 visitors a year. More than 200,000 international visitors have established exchanges with US professionals through the program. Find out more on the website.
