Jana Guinond, actress, educator, creator of the Using the Portuguese Language Program and advisor to the ELAS Fund, is part of the team of teachers for the new course on representativeness at ESPM - Rio, the course "Me Representa! Brands and Representativeness".
The course is aimed at students and professionals in the creative industry who want to work on building richer, more inclusive and socially responsible advertising campaigns. With a focus on anti-racist communication, the course will be held in Rio de Janeiro from March 23, 2018.
"In the course, we'll be questioning everything from the way advertisers look at things, to the way staff look at things, and the fact that we have several black agencies operating in the market in a fantastic way," explained Jana Guinond in an interview with the Mundo Negro website. The course will be taught by a team of black teachers.
The aim of the course is to analyze, recognize, reflect on and enhance the influences of African and Afro-Brazilian culture in communication campaigns and plans. Afro-experience, diversity, creation, clichés and stereotypes and aesthetic standards are some of the topics discussed.
