A survey carried out by Sophia Mind, a company specializing in behaviour and trends in the female universe, and published by Época magazine, shows the relationship between women and money. Two thousand women with broadband internet access in the six largest Brazilian capitals were interviewed.

The analysis showed, among other things, that 47% of married women are responsible for all or most of the household spending decisions. 34% of women over 30 say that avoidable or optional household expenses consume the most of their money. And 43% of women who earn more than R$5,000 save little or nothing.
"They invest little and this improves less than we expected with advancing age and income. Among those in their 40s, many still rely heavily on the presence and future help of their husbands and children," Andiara Peterle, chief executive of Sophia Mind, told Época magazine.
