The ELAS Fund stands in solidarity with the family, friends and fellow fighters of Nila Cordeiro dos Santos, one of the founders of the Domestic Workers Union of Pernambuco, who died yesterday.
For many years, Nila Cordeiros dos Santos was a strong presence in building the struggle of domestic workers. She was also one of those responsible for the project developed by the Domestic Workers' Union of the State of Pernambuco, supported by the program "For the Rights of Domestic Workers in Brazil", a partnership between the ELAS Fund and Themis to institutionally strengthen domestic workers' unions or associations, as well as mobilize and ensure political support for domestic workers' rights.
