Violence against women: figures show current scenario

A report in the O Globo newspaper shows that a woman is murdered every two hours in Brazil, according to the Sangari Institute's 2010 Map of Violence. The country ranks 12th in the world for murders of women. According to the study, 40% of women who suffer violence are between the ages of 18 and 30. In the last ten years, 41,532 girls and women have been murdered.
