Favela Point is a themed food space focused on the community and also on tourists who visit the area, especially because of the privileged views from various points in the city. The gastronomic space also hopes to meet the demand for food and cultural options that will increase due to the inclined plane being built in the community.
The name Favela Point is a tribute to the community itself, as Providência is known as Brazil's first favela. The partners also wanted to demystify the concept of the favela by creating a modern space with contemporary Brazilian cuisine and highly qualified service. The snack bar's menu includes classic community foods such as pasteis and bolinho de arroz (which tends to be the mainstay of the snacks), escondindinhos, drinks (such as the famous caipirinha) and even sacolé, a tradition in all of Rio de Janeiro's communities.
