On April 13, the first edition of Brejeiras magazine was launched in Rio de Janeiro. Conceived by and for lesbian women, the publication is the result of a cooperative movement that seeks to expand the speaking spaces of lesbian women, bringing them to the center of the debate. The event was attended by more than 300 people who filled the space and occupied Rua do Rezende, in Lapa.
The issue features an exclusive interview with Ellen Oléria, who talks about what it's like to be a lesbian woman in the music world. "Some groups fight to get better salaries, we still fight to stay alive," said Ellen. The magazine also features an interview with samba singer Marina Iris, who talks about her new album, as well as cultural tips, comics and poetry.
The Brejeiras Magazine costs R$10 and can be ordered using the form: https: //bit.ly/2vdkmyA
