Suzimar Clementino, partner in the I Piatti restaurants, promoter of the Botafogo Gastronomic Hub, president of the Jardim Oceânico Gastronomic Hub in Barra da Tijuca and president of the ELAS Fund board, is promoting professional guidance in the sector for women. The aim of the initiative is to train six young residents of Morro Dona Marta to set up an association to provide services in the area of gastronomy, developed by the young women themselves.

At the first meeting, which took place at the businesswoman's restaurant in Botafogo, the young women took part in a theoretical lesson on setting up a table, welcoming customers, service and wine pairing. They will then be able to practice the knowledge they have acquired in the restaurant itself. The classes are mentored by Suzimar's employees, under her coordination. According to Suzi, the aim is to promote the association between the city's gastronomy hubs and businesspeople, so that the young women have a market to work in events in the city.

"This is female empowerment. We are presenting ways for them to set up their own businesses through knowledge and the opportunity to learn, so that they can help other women," says Suzimar. The businesswoman's aim is to expand the initiative to include other young women from the favelas around the restaurant.
