Amalia Fischer, general coordinator of the ELAS Fund, took part last week in the International Conference of EDGE - Engaged Donors for Global Equity.
EDGE is an alliance of philanthropic organizations that brings together foundations and seeks to raise awareness and deepen understanding of the interconnected nature of the social, economic and ecological crises that threaten our common future. EDGE works to increase resources for communities and movements creating alternatives for change towards a transition to a society that supports justice, equity and the well-being of the planet.
Its 2017 annual conference took place in Barcelona, Spain, from April 25 to 28. The programme included panels such as "Progressive Philanthropy - Re/Organizing Philanthropy for System Change" and "People Power - Organising to build the New".
Representatives from organizations such as the Open Society Foundations, the Red Umbrella Fund and the Astraea Foundation, among others, also took part in the conference.
