Young leaders at international seminar
Encouraging girls and adolescents to change the world through their way of acting, thinking and making things happen. This was the mission of the Brazil-USA International Seminar on girls' empowerment, which was attended by three representatives of GAMI, women's soccer players who have been supported by an ELAS project.
XVI groups meet for capacity building
The beginning of April marked the training of grantees for the 16th ELAS Social Investment Fund competition, in partnership with the Avon Institute and UN Women. On this occasion, the participants had access to training on communication and marketing, non-violent communication, accountability and a debate with experts on the Maria da Penha Law.
Speak Without Fear Fund: resources to combat violence against women
Grupos e organizações de mulheres que desenvolvam iniciativas que ajudem a diminuir a violência contra as mulheres em comunidades da Região Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro poderão ser apoiadas pelo Fundo Fale sem Medo, umainiciativa do Instituto Avon em parceria com o ELAS Fundo de Investimento Social e a ONU Mulheres. No total, o edital disponibilizará R$ 300 mil para doações diretas.

From the South to the Center: LesBiTranInter Meeting
From November 2 to 4, the LesBiTransInter - Latin American and Caribbean Feminist Meeting was held in Paraguay, bringing together more than 250 people to discuss issues related to women's human rights. The event debated feminisms and the subjects of feminisms in Latin America and the Caribbean and strategies for activism in the region, as well as bringing together local experiences and creative experiences of resistance.
Dialogues for Strengthening and Sustainability
The last week of October was marked by the Dialogues for the Strengthening and Sustainability of the Women's Human Rights Movement in Brazil, which brought together organizations that will receive support from the Ford Foundation and the Sigrid Rausing Trust. The event provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and presentations that stimulated innovation and new perspectives in communication activities.

Come on, girls!
In January 2013, ELAS, in partnership with the U.S.-based Foundation for Girls and Women, will film the documentary Vamos meninas! (Let's go girls!), which aims to highlight the political and economic changes experienced by Brazilian women in recent years, especially after the arrival of the first woman President of the Republic.
Building Gender Equality Award
To encourage reflection on all forms of discrimination, UN Women and CNPQ are holding the 80th Building Gender Equality Award. You can compete by submitting scientific articles, essays and educational projects and actions. Entries are open until September 17 and winners will receive computers and even cash grants.

XV Project Competition is supported by the Ford Foundation
Women's organizations and networks that have received a letter of invitation to the 15th "Sustainability of Feminist Organizations" competition have until August 31st to submit their project. The competition is supported by the Ford Foundation and the results of the selection will be published on October 2nd on this website.
