'Resistance'. This is the plot of Acadêmicos do Salgueiro for this year's Carnival, signed by the philosopher and president of the Deliberative Council of ELAS+, Helena Theodoro. Resistance could also be an adjective used to describe this woman who, throughout her 79 years of life, raises the flag of valorization of the black population and took the front line of the fight against racism in Brazil.

Receiving the news that ELAS+ Giving for change is on the list of organizations contemplated by Mackenzie-Scott donations made me very excited. It is gratifying to receive this kind of recognition and for this reason there are no words to thank this philanthropist who understood the importance of having full confidence in the strategies and work of the diversity of civil society organizations.

The Black Women Alliance Pelo Fim da Violência, a partnership between ELAS+ and the Ford Foundation, started in 2021, with direct support to 78 groups and organizations with leadership of black women and black trans women, located in all regions of the country. More than 1 million reais were invested in actions to be carried out by the supported women's groups and organizations until August 2022.

- Assist in organizing in the process of launching calls for proposals, receiving projects and selection;

- Advise and monitor the supported projects, through indicators and metrics;

- Produce reports and other official documents;

- Assist in organizing dialogues, meetings and gatherings with groups and organizations supported by ELAS+...

For many years, ELAS+ has pursued gender and race equity in sports as a tool for social transformation, believing in and supporting girls and women. This is one of our areas of investment.

The Curumim Group, a feminist and anti-racist organization, has just completed 32 years of strengthening women's citizenship at all stages of their lives.

The current context challenges us every day to create new alternatives to move forward. With courage and determination, we transformed our face-to-face Dialogue into broad virtual conversations. This year's methodology was "Talking in Windows" and this is how we broadened our horizons.

The night of August 30 was one of celebration! Artists, intellectuals and members of ELAS+ reaffirmed the visionary importance of the first and only Brazilian social investment fund for the promotion of Leadership of women and LBT people. The live was mediated by artist Ellen Oléria.

We held a special panel with funders of women's and transgender organizations, increasing knowledge between those who have resources and organizations seeking resources, among other supports. These are partners who, more than supporting the organizations financially, can also give visibility on the global agenda to the problems that communities face in various areas, throughout Brazil.

It will provide R$3,750,000.00 in direct grants to groups and organizations of women and trans people. The Call for Proposals Building Movements 2021: strengthening solidarity and trust is a new opportunity for women's and LBT people's organizations to receive flexible support.

Next Monday, August 30, at 7 pm, the artist Ellen Oléria presents the live celebration of the 21st anniversary of ELAS+ on Youtube.

We managed to produce our institutional video, a long-held dream. The support of Rede de Social justice philanthropy was fundamental to its realization. We are grateful for the talent and dedication of the team, who translated what ELAS is and does, respecting our vision and mission and adding beauty!
